The re-airing of “A Christmas Carol” (Thursday night at 9 on CBS) has George C. Scott, who stars as Scrooge, answering questions about Christmas in general. “I’m not much of a Christmas chap, but that doesn’t mean I’m Scroogy,” Scott claims. Playing Scrooge, he has found a man that was “terribly alone. It’s the isolation of the man and his rejuvenation and rebirth that makes him the memorable character that he is.” As for Christmas present, Scott and wife Trish Van Devere will be spending it at home in Malibu. “Trish is going caroling on horseback,” he said, adding that he doubts he’ll join her. “I did a picture for John Huston once and fell off a horse three times in one day. I’ve never been much of an equestrian since then.”
