Alliant Computer Systems Corp. of Littleton, Mass., selected Thomas J. Perkins, a general partner in the venture capital firm of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, to the new position of chairman. Perkins’ firm was an early investor in the supercomputer company, and he has been on its board since 1982.
