Microsemi, a Santa Ana semiconductor manufacturer, said its yearly earnings plunged 44% despite a 79% increase in revenue. Earnings for the fiscal year ended Oct. 2 declined to $2.9 million, down from $5.3 million a year ago. Revenue increased to $83.7 million from $46.8 million. For the fourth quarter, Microsemi’s earnings remained relatively flat, rising to $1.39 million from $1.37 million. Revenue increased 80% to $26.2 million.
