Chevron Announces 2 Promotions

Chevron Corp. announced today that Edwin R. Lowry has been named to its Executive Committee, and Malcolm J. McAuley has been elected secretary. Lowry, 60, vice president of foreign operations, will have expanded responsibilities in the area of foreign operations and join ventures. His appointment to the eight-member Executive Committee, which is responsible for carrying out policy set by the board of directors, is effective Jan. 1. McAuley will assume his new post March 1, replacing Donald N. Maytum, 64, who is retiring after a 40-year career.
