CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. —
A medical helicopter taking a 7-year-old boy to a hospital crashed in heavy fog early Thursday, killing the boy and two medical workers and seriously injuring the pilot, authorities said.
The helicopter was en route from Marion, Ill., to St. Francis Medical Center in this southeast Missouri town when it went down in a field, a hospital spokeswoman said. She said the boy had suffered a broken neck and back in a traffic accident.
