Philippine Communist rebels released six soldiers captured in two September raids and predicted the “total victory” of their revolution within the next decade. The banned Communist Party of the Philippines predicted victory within the next decade “so long as no grave errors of ideological subjectivism, political opportunism, sectarianism and laxity are committed.” The statement was issued on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Maoist party.
