Playtex Holdings Inc. said it has been acquired by a management-led group in a $1.3-billion deal that splits the company into two separate units of apparel and non-apparel operations. The Stamford, Conn.-based company will be run as Playtex Family Products Corp. and Playtex Apparel Inc. The investor group first bought the whole company for $1.3 billion and then spun off the apparel unit to management for $380 million.
