World : Israelis Rocket Amal Militia Posts

BEIRUT —
Israeli helicopters rocketed positions of the Shia Muslim Amal militia in south Lebanon today, accusing it of assisting cross-border raids by Palestinian gunmen.
U.N. official Timor Goksel said eight militiamen were wounded when two Israeli U.S.-made helicopters attacked the Amal positions in the village of Sultaniyeh, 50 miles south of Beirut. Israeli troops also shot dead three infiltrators from Egypt Wednesday night and were searching for a fourth man who escaped, an army spokesman said.
