NEWS IN BRIEF : Actor Arrested After Fracas

Share

Actor Kenneth (Kene) Holliday, who plays an investigator on the “Matlock” television series, was released from jail Friday after being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Ladera Heights, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputy Lee Wagner said Holliday, 39, of Sherman Oaks, was arrested Thursday night by California Highway Patrol officers and booked at the Lennox Sheriff’s Station after a resident in the 5200 block of W. Slauson Avenue complained of having several windows broken by the actor.

Officers were told that Holliday apparently had an argument outside the house with someone he believed to be a friend of the resident, smashed the windows and then got into his car, only to crash into a parked automobile.

Wagner said deputies took a vandalism report, then turned Holliday over to CHP officers for booking on suspicion of drunk driving.

He was released on his own recognizance pending a Jan. 30 appearance in Culver City Municipal Court.
