Four of the Top 5 videocassette rentals this week are comedies and heart-warming adventures, reflecting the tastes of the family-oriented holiday market. Don’t expect a major Top 5 overhaul until next month. “Beetlejuice” is a holdover from Halloween, but its stellar performance in the rental market is what you’d expect from a film that grossed $73 million. “Short Circuit 2” (No. 11) and “License to Drive” (No. 13) are scooting up the chart, though neither appears likely to crack the Top 5. No advance for “Arthur 2: On the Rocks”--it’s hung over at No. 14. So far “Big Top Pee Wee” is a mild No. 22 on the rental chart.

* “Nightmare 4’s” box-office returns were a dreamy $49 million, making it by far the biggest horror movie of last year. It debuted at No. 17 on the rental chart, but look for this chiller to slither into the Top 5 in the next week or two.
