Trojans’ Swan Song in Rose Bowl Had a Familiar Refrain

When USC hired Larry Smith, I’m sure he was told by the powers that be that he would be allowed to lose a game once in a while, but he should never lose to:
--UCLA.
--Notre Dame.
--The Rose Bowl opponent.
Looks as if Smith has 2 strikes on him, and 3 will be out.
Maybe next season.
