Fullerton Women Defeat UC Irvine

The Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball team extended its winning streak to 10 games by defeating UC Irvine, 64-45, in a Big West conference game Saturday at the Bren Center.

Fullerton sophomore center Gena Miller had a game-high 37 points, sinking 12 of 18 shots from the field. Miller also made 13 of 19 from the free-throw line.

Fullerton (11-1 overall and 3-0 in conference) led, 27-23, at halftime, but broke the game open in the second half.

Shurrell Johnson had 13 points for Irvine (3-9, 0-4).

Irvine plays host to Pepperdine Tuesday at 5 p.m.
