Utah State Beats New Mexico State, 69-66

Freshman guard Kendall Youngblood hit a free throw with 29 seconds left Sunday night and Utah State held on to beat New Mexico State, 69-66, in a Big West Conference game.

Utah State (4-8 overall, 2-1 in the conference) trailed, 33-31, at halftime, but built an 8-point lead in the second half.

Guard Reid Newey scored 16 points for Utah State, making 5 of 8 baskets from 3-point range. Junior forward Darrel White added 13 points and Youngblood had 12.

Johnny Roberson scored 18 points for New Mexico State (8-5, 2-1), Jeff McCool had 17 and Keith Hill added 15.
