Gov. George Deukmejian’s proposed state budget includes these Orange County projects:
UC Irvine
Physical Sciences Building renovation: $10.6 million.
Working drawings for a new science library: $1.2 million.
Building the first phase in expansion of campus road system, including a new campus entrance on south side: $3.25 million.
Preliminary plans to increase chilled water system to 6,500 tons: $135,000.
Planning for a building to house engineering programs, the central computing facility and general classrooms: $975,000.
UCI Medical Center
Up to $8 million to compensate center for care provided to poor.
Cal State Fullerton
Equipment to complete an addition to Engineering Building: $2.7 million.
Working drawings and building addition to McCarthy Hall science building: $22.4 million.
Planning classroom and faculty office building to accommodate 2,000 students, 100 faculty offices and administrative space: $307,000.
Rancho Santiago Community College
Equipment for new classroom building: $552,000
Working drawings for addition to Centennial Education Center to provide classroom, office and library space: $78,000.
Chino Hills State Park
Buying new lands for park: $10.2 million.
Finishing construction of initial park facilities: $75,000.
Caltrans
Addition of 47 engineers and other workers to oversee building county toll roads: $3.2 million.
Amtrak
Roadbed improvements on San Diegan rail service connecting Los Angeles with San Diego through the county: $10 million.
