From Times wire services

Two West German universities have been ordered to stop using the remains of Nazi extermination victims--some of them decapitated--in medical education, a state government official said today.

Chancellor Helmut Kohl expressed shock over the practice after Israel and the West German Jewish community urged him to ensure that the remains of Communists and mentally handicapped people murdered by the Nazis were removed. Christoph Keller, spokesman for the Baden-Wuerttemberg Science and Culture Ministry, said three tissue samples and 150 specimens from Nazi victims had been taken away from the prestigious universities of Heidelberg and Tuebingen.
