International Paper Co. launched a bid for French photocopy paper maker Aussedat-Rey in a deal analysts valued at $320 million. Aussedat-Rey, which had $720 million (4.5 billion francs) in 1987 sales, refused to comment on the offer, which officials at Purchase, N.Y.-based International Paper said was friendly. Aussedat shares were suspended until further news after closing Wednesday at $98.40 (612 francs) on the Paris Bourse. The bid would give International Paper a European foothold.
