From Times staff and wire service reports

Donald T. Sterling, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, reportedly has been offered $30 million to move his team to Anaheim.

Sterling said the offer was made by a group of Anaheim investors eager to lure the team to their proposed $50-million, 20,000-seat sports arena, according to reports.

Neither that group nor officials of the Los Angeles Sports Arena and National Basketball Assn. have corroborated Sterling’s statement.

Two sites are being considered for the Orange County arena, one across from City Hall and one near Anaheim Stadium.

Terms of the city’s negotiating agreement with the Papiano Group, a partnership of the Nederlander Organization and Ogden Corp., included bringing a new or existing NBA team to Anaheim.

The Clippers agreement with Los Angeles expires after the 1993-1994 season, and the team has been pressuring the Los Angeles Coliseum Commission to build a practice court at the Sports Arena. The commission has responded by asking the Clippers to extend their lease agreement for another five years.
