Afghan guerrilla parties will meet Feb. 1 to approve an interim government they say must rule Afghanistan after Soviet troops complete their withdrawal, rebel leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar told a news conference in Islamabad, Pakistan. He said there will be no role in the new government for Afghan President Najibullah and probably none for the deposed king, Zahir Shah. He said the main seven-party guerrilla alliance has approved the meeting, and each party will name 60 delegates. He said the representation for a smaller alliance based in Iran has not been determined.
