200 Held for Links to Kurd Rebels in Turkey

ANKARA, Turkey —
Security officials have detained at least 200 people in the southeast in the past two weeks on charges of collaborating with Kurdish guerrillas, officials said Tuesday.
Fuat Atalay, a deputy from the main opposition Social Democrat Populist Party, said that more than 200 people of Kurdish origin have been detained in the province of Diyarbakir.
Other sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that about 200 others were rounded up in nearby Siirt province.
