Ferdinand E. Marcos suffered a collapsed lung, and one of his doctors told a New York court that the ousted Philippine president is so sick he could die at any time. “His respiratory condition has worsened,” a spokeswoman at St. Francis Medical Center in Honolulu said. But she added that the 71-year-old political exile is still listed in guarded condition despite the collapsed left lung, which had to be reinflated. News of his latest physical crisis came as lawyers argued in a New York courtroom over whether he is healthy enough to be arraigned and stand trial on corruption and conspiracy charges.
