It’s not official yet--”the deal is still pending”--but a rep for Madonna confirms that the Material Girl is in discussions with Pepsi about appearing in a national spot.

In the interim, casting folks have been notified of a late-January/early-February Madonna-Pepsi shoot. And they’ve been asked to be on the lookout for: a “little Madonna” (that is, a young Madonna, played by a brunette girl of about 9); 19-year-old types to play Detroit high schoolers, circa 1975; a Mick Dundee-type; and--are you ready--”authentic Australian aborigines with legal working papers,” according to a casting source.

But does Madonna drink Pepsi?

“I really couldn’t say for sure,” said her spokeswoman.
