ABC was first, NBC second and CBS third in ratings for network daytime coverage of Friday’s Inauguration ceremonies for President Bush, according to preliminary ratings from 16 major cities. The ratings, provided Monday by ABC, showed that ABC averaged a 7.9 rating in direct network-against-network competition. NBC was close behind with a 7.1, while CBS was third with a 5.2. National ratings for the Inauguration coverage won’t be available until Thursday, an ABC spokesman said.
