LOS ANGELES COUNTY - News from Jan. 24, 1989

Thomas E. Dokter, executive vice president-merchandising at the Carter Hawley Hale Stores’ Broadway-Southern California division, has been named president of Broadway-Southwest. He succeeds Martin M. Kalkstein as president. Kalkstein remains chief executive and becomes chairman of the division.

At Broadway-Southern California, Scott A. Hessler, senior vice president and general merchandise manager--home divisions, has been named executive vice president-merchandising. Dan C. Nowlin, a regional vice president-stores, has been named executive vice president-stores. Robert E. Bear, vice president and merchandise information officer, has been named senior vice president and general merchandise manager-home divisions. All of the appointments are effective Feb. 1.
