End Paul Cleary, who played for USC in 1946 and ‘47, is one of 11 players elected to the College Football Hall of Fame.

The others are Archie Manning, Mississippi quarterback, 1958-60; Roman Gabriel, North Carolina State quarterback, 1959-61; Larry Csonka, Syracuse fullback, 1965-67; Bob Schloredt, Washington quarterback, 1958-60; Donny Anderson, Texas Tech halfback, 1963-65; Bump Elliott, halfback, Purdue, 1944 and Michigan, 1946-47; Bob Johnson, Tennessee center, 1965-67; Ted Kwalick, Penn State tight end, 1966-68; Edgar Manske, Northwestern end, 1931-33, and Aurelius Thomas, Ohio State guard, 1955-57.

After serving in the Army during World War II, Cleary was co-captain of USC’s 1947 Rose Bowl team and later played pro football with the New York Yankees.
