In Jamaica, one person was killed near a political rally and Prime Minister Edward Seaga’s car was stoned during a campaign stop for next month’s election, police said. Seaga, who is trailing former Prime Minister Michael Manley in the polls, was unhurt. Police said an unidentified 24-year-old man was shot to death Friday by unknown assailants outside a hall where a political rally was being held east of Kingston. It was the seventh politics-related death since campaigning began for the Feb. 9 vote.
