Center Elden Campbell, Clemson’s leading scorer, and guard Marion Cash, who leads the Tigers in assists, were among seven players suspended for today’s game at Duke.

Coach Cliff Ellis said the players violated study hall rules.

Clemson was left with only seven players for the game, so team manager Dennis Hopf, a 6-foot sophomore, was added to the squad.

Also suspended were top reserves Dale Davis, a 6-9 forward averaging 11.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, and Tim Kincaid, a 6-3 guard who has started 5 games and is averaging 7.4 points. Others suspended were guard Donnell Bruce, center Rod Mitchell and forward Sean Tyson, who is being red-shirted.
