Officials of a Japanese health services company last week visited the St. Joseph & St. Jude Home Health Network in Orange to gather information that will help them establish Japan’s first home health-care service. Sherry Carmack, administrator of the St. Joseph & St. Jude Home Health Network, said she met last Thursday with top officials of the newly formed home health division of Duskin Co. Ltd. of Osaka, Japan. Carmack said Service Master Home Health, a Chicago-based management firm that operates the home health care service for St. Joseph and St. Jude hospitals in Orange County, is assisting Duskin in setting up a pilot home nursing program in Tokyo. Carmack said Duskin’s home health service will be a first for Japan and is scheduled to begin operation in March.
