A firm owned by former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali filed suit in federal court in Los Angeles, seeking more than $550 million from two companies that allegedly signed contracts for big batches of Muhammad Ali shoe polish but then refused to accept them. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court, names the K mart Corp. and Melville Corp. and alleges racial discrimination, breach of contract, emotional distress, conspiracy and antitrust violations. Spokesmen for the two companies declined comment.
