Boy, 10, Slain in Drive-By Shooting
A 10-year-old boy was fatally shot and four other males, ranging in age from 14 to 25, were seriously wounded in a gang-related drive-by shooting at a Long Beach park Tuesday night, police said.
Friends and relatives took all of the victims to St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach before paramedics arrived.
The shooting occurred in MacArthur Park on East Anaheim Street.
The wounded were identified by a hospital spokeswoman Wendy Kuran as Hector Perez, 25, shot in the back; Joel Alamo, 21, multiple gunshot wounds in the upper torso; Robert Lopez, 19, leg wound, and the 14-year old boy, whose identity had not been determined, shot in the leg and abdomen. All are from Long Beach.
