Five-Run First Starts USC Victory Over Irvine
Murph Procter went 3 for 4 with two RBIs to lead 18th-ranked USC to a 6-2 nonconference baseball victory over UC Irvine Tuesday at USC.
Rob Johnson (0-1) took the loss. He gave up five runs in the first inning but just two hits and a run over the next six.
Osmar DeChavez and Courtney Davis drove in Irvine’s only runs, both in the sixth inning.
Irvine will travel to Loyola Marymount today to play the fourth-ranked Lions.
