Jewish groups in Chicago, citing improved conditions in the Soviet Union, will not demonstrate against the Moiseyev Ballet this week as they have during the company’s previous engagements in the Windy City. “We are encouraged by the growing relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union, and in light of recent positive developments in the U.S.S.R. regarding emigration and Jewish culture, we will not be picketing,” said Richard Rice, chairman of the Chicago Conference on Soviet Jewry.
