UCLA’s School of Social Welfare has received $100,000 from James and Judy Bergman of Laguna Beach to establish an endowed fellowship. The James and Judy Bergman Endowed Fellowship will be awarded each year to a graduate student who is interested in applying social work research to practical situations.

The fellowship is part of a 6 1/2-year campaign by UCLA to raise $300 million to support academic programs. The university passed its goal in June, 1988, and by the end of last year had raised $355 million.
