Waves Try to Protect Lead at St. Mary’s

Pepperdine, which leads Loyola Marymount and St. Mary’s by one game in the West Coast Athletic Conference basketball race, will risk a share of that lead when it plays at St. Mary’s tonight in Moraga. The Waves also play Saturday night at the University of San Diego.

Pepperdine, 15-8 overall and 7-1 in the WCAC, has been limiting opponents to 42.8% shooting but has been giving up 73.9 points a game. Before losing to the Waves last week in Malibu, St. Mary’s had won eight consecutive road games.
