Bishop Borsch to Talk of the Needy

“Charity or Change?” is the title of a speech to be given by the Rev. Frederick H. Borsch, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, at the Episcopal Service Alliance’s annual dinner and meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Santa Ana Country Club.

“When we truly relate to people in need,” Borsch said, “we want not only to help them in their immediate circumstances, but to change the cause of their circumstances.” Bishop Borsch, a former dean of the Chapel at Princeton University, has set taking care of those in need as a top priority of the Episcopal Church in Southern California.

Political essayist Craig Barnes will speak on “Beyond the Cold War: Building a New World View” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Laguna Niguel’s Community Forum Series at Shepherd of the Hills United Church of Christ, 30121 Niguel Road, Laguna Niguel.
