PROVIDENCE, R.I. —
A Superior Court jury Friday convicted Peter T. Trepanier on 27 counts stemming from a series of sniper attacks that terrorized northern Rhode Island two winters ago.
The jury found Trepanier guilty of six counts each of assault with intent to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder, resulting from six sniper attacks that left four people wounded in Cumberland and North Smithfield in December, 1986, and January, 1987. The jury also convicted Trepanier of three counts of first-degree arson.
