Pope Will Make His Fifth Visit to Africa

VATICAN CITY —
Pope John Paul II will visit Madagascar, Zambia, Malawi and the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion from April 28 to May 6, the Vatican announced Friday.
It will be the pontiff’s fifth trip to Africa and his 41st outside Italy since he was elected in 1978.
