The government has reached agreement with Poland and Bulgaria to exchange trade missions, raising to five the number of communist countries setting up such groups in Seoul, officials said.

The state-run Korea Trade Promotion Corp. said that after South Korea opens its own trade offices in March, it would organize trade missions to visit Warsaw, Sofia and Moscow to sell products.

The Soviet Union and South Korea announced last month that they would open trade offices in each other’s countries, also in March. Hungary and Yugoslavia opened trade offices in Seoul last year.

Hungary is the only communist nation that has established diplomatic relations with South Korea. Seoul is trying to improve ties with communist nations to expand its trade base and smooth its relations with communist North Korea.
