Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab of Petaluma, Calif., the U.S. distributor for the Soviet Union’s state-owned Melodiya recordings, will donate all profits from the label’s 1989 sales to the Armenian Relief Society, according to President Herbert A. Belkin. The label is also scheduled to release in March a recording of great Armenian folk music, with proceeds going to the same fund for relief efforts following the devasting December earthquake in the Soviet republic.
