RAPSODIES: Talk about paying tribute. When Bobby Brown concluded his show at Madison Square Garden the other night, a Mt. Rushmore of rap royalty joined him on stage to ‘knowledge his ascendancy into pop music’s pantheon. The posse on hand to pay their respects included LL Cool J., Run (of Run-DMC), Kool Moe Dee, Heavy D. and Eric B (who won the fashion nod by arriving in a full-length mink coat with matching mink hat). . . . Are most rappers sexist swine? Vile male chauvinists? You wouldn’t get any argument from Slick Rick (co-star of 1985’s hugely influential hip-hop hit, “The Show”), who’s back with a cocky debut album, “The Great Adventures of Slick Rick.” Asked about the attitude behind such new songs as “Treat Her Like a Prostitute,” Rick told Spin magazine: “Say there’s a girl that you like a lot, but you don’t know nothing about her. The best way to see if she’s a nice girl or a tramp is to treat her like a tramp first. If you treat her good first, you’ll never know.”. . . Our Remake of the Week goes to Stetsasonic, whose new single is “Float On,” an updated rap version of the old Floaters hit (yes--the group gives their astrological signs, just as in the original). . . . And the lowly L.A. Clippers aren’t the only big fans of Louisville basketball star Pervis Ellison, who could help make any NBA team a contender next year. So is rap up ‘n’ comer Biz Markie, who gave Ellison a thrill recently when he took the stage wearing a Louisville practice jersey wearing No. 42 (Ellison’s number).
