Los Angeles Philharmonic assistant conductor Heiichiro Ohyama will replace Oliver Knussen in concerts with the orchestra, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and Saturday at the Bob Hope Cultural Center in Palm Desert. The British composer/conductor is ill and will not be able to fly in from England. The program for all concerts now lists Mussorgsky’s Prelude to “Khovanshchina,” Shostakovich’s Second Cello Concerto, with Natasha Gutman, Carter’s Elegy and Stravinsky’s “Firebird” Suite (1945).
