Manic comedian Robin Williams, star of “The World According to Garp,” “Good Morning, Vietnam” and other films, was honored Tuesday with the Man of the Year award by the Hasty Pudding Theatricals at Harvard University. The nation’s oldest and largest undergraduate dramatic organization cited Williams for his “diverse roles” ranging from a spinach-eating sailor in the movie “Popeye” to an alien being in the TV series “Mork and Mindy.” The Hasty Pudding Theatricals has presented the Man of the Year award since 1967 to a performer who has made a “lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment.” Past winners include comedian Steve Martin and actor Paul Newman.
