Chapman College has raised the $450,000 matching requirement for a $150,000 grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, college officials announced.
The grant and matching gifts will be used to establish an endowment for a fund to support faculty research and curriculum development, acting college president James Doti said.
The matching-gifts requirement was reached through a community and corporate fund-raising campaign that was completed 6 months ahead of the grant deadline of July, 1989.
