Sixty-four men were evacuated from a North Sea oil production platform Saturday after a fault was found in one of its wells.

A spokesman for operators Shell UK Exploration and Production said the Shell-Esso Dunlin Alpha platform, which normally produces 48,000 barrels of oil per day, had closed down output, although oil production is expected to resume in a matter of days.
