FCC Rules on Phone Service: The FCC ordered five companies that provide long-distance telephone service in hotels, airports, hospitals and other public places to fully inform users of whose service they’re using and how much it will cost. These providers of so-called alternative operator services also must not block callers from using other long-distance carriers, the FCC said.
