Carlyle Raises Its Stake in Fairchild to 14.9%

The Carlyle Group said it increased its stake in Fairchild Industries Inc. to 2,139,300 shares, or 14.9% of the outstanding stock.

Last month Fairchild, the Long Island, N.Y.-based aerospace company, rejected the investment group’s sweetened offer of $16.30 a share, saying the bid did not serve the best interests of the company. The first bid was worth $15.50 a share.
