Lucille Ball on Thursday was named recipient of the 1989 Eastman Second Century Award given by the Eastman Kodak Co. to individuals who have aided in developing young talent. She’ll be honored April 24 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. David Puttnam, Steven Spielberg and Burt Reynolds are previous winners. . . . Angela Lansbury will pick up the Hollywood Radio & Television Society’s Woman of the Year award at the society’s 29th International Broadcasting Awards March 22 at the Century Plaza. . . . Opera star Dorothy Kirsten French will be honored as Woman of the Year by the Women’s Committee of the Palm Springs Desert Museum on April 10 . . . Gilbert Cates, former president of the Directors Guild, will get that group’s Robert B. Aldrich Award for service to the organization at the DGA dinner Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton.
