Local News in Brief : Countywide : Supervisors to Consider Warnings on Alcohol

Share

The Orange County Board of Supervisors will consider Tuesday an ordinance requiring any business that sells or serves alcoholic beverages in unincorporated areas to post warnings that the consumption of liquor during pregnancy can cause birth defects.

Under state law, businesses with 10 or more employees already are required to post such warnings. But Dr. L. Rex Ehling, the county’s director of public health, said the warning should be posted in “all businesses, big or small.”
