Microsoft Shareholder Sues: A Microsoft Corp. shareholder has filed a federal class-action lawsuit alleging that the computer software publisher and two of its officers violated U.S. securities laws by misleading stockholders about the company’s financial outlook. Microsoft shareholders were damaged when the price of the stock plummeted 13.7% on Tuesday after Microsoft announced that it faced lower-than-expected third-quarter profit, according to allegations in the suit filed in U.S. District Court in Seattle by Bruce Adelstein. The suit says Microsoft gave no indication in the weeks before the announcement that it was facing any problems. It seeks undetermined compensatory and punitive damages.
