Development Plans by M.J. Brock
M.J. Brock is rapidly proceeding with one of the largest developments in Laguna Beach in a most environmentally insensitive way. M.J. Brock plans to build 36 single-family residences on North Alta Laguna Boulevard adjacent to the newly acquired Laguna Heights Open Space. The plans call for excessive grading (135,000 cubic yards of cut, and 135,000 cubic yards of fill).
This project certainly does not respect the terrain and violates Laguna Beach’s grading policy.
Lagunans concerned with the environment should contact our City Council to require a reduction in the grading and to preserve the knoll, at least partially, to provide a view park for the public. It is urgent to act now to prevent the destruction of the land.
