French Rightist Party Suffers Election Setback

PARIS —
France’s controversial far-right National Front suffered a severe setback in municipal elections Sunday. Computer projections after the first round in voting for France’s 36,000-odd town halls forecast around 7% for the party of Jean-Marie Le Pen, half its total of less than a year ago.
The small, environmentalist Greens movement also scored an upset, getting up to 4% nationwide.
